I just finished one week of working and feel pretty good. A little tried after not being constantly on my feet and of course putting in a 12 hour day (includes 2 1/2 hour round trip commute) does wear you out, but all in all not a bad week.
Several things helped in my recovery from a herniated disc and surgery:
1. A skilled and caring surgeon: My advice to you is find the best available. One who does a lot of surgeries and is well known in your area.
2. Great physical therapist: Same advice as for your surgeon. Also I stayed away from some of the larger physical therapist companies and went would a locally own business. Not that a larger company wouldn’t give me good service, I just prefer dealing with someone that has a real stake in the community and business.
3. Sticking to a recovery plan and not rushing things. Healing takes time.
It important to understand that you will have some good days and bad days. But with time the bad days are few.
4. losing weight: I lost ten pounds which has made me feel better and have more energy. I plan to lose another ten more.
5. Following a program of exercise and the information available @ The Healthy Back Institute. My only regret is not finding out about them before my surgery. Now that I have found them I intend to stick to their program.
As my therapist says I’m a work in progress. My goals are to continue to improve my strength, energy level and live pain feel. I can’t wait to be able to ride my bike and kayak with my wife.

Cancer is nothing but sudden and unexpected growth of cells in a particular part of the body. If the growth happens to be in the pair of kidneys which is located on the spine just above the waist, is called kidney cancer.
Adults are the most affected by this type of cancer. In the standard method of kidney cancer treatment, the stage of the disease is noted and age of the person is a prime factor. If it hasn’t spread, then it may be cured by some means. If it has spread, it is very difficult to cure.
In the first step, the size of the cancer cells are detected, then the location is found, after that depending upon the size and stage of the disease whether surgery or radiation therapy is employed.

If you don’t notice any difference, you can try switching to a different protein-carbohydrate combination again, but give it a minimum of 8 weeks before you do.
It’s best that the new diet administered be prepared at home, rather than store-bought, because the store-bought variety may contain corn and other things that may be the cause of the allergy itself. There is a lamb and rice variety of dog food on the market targeted towards allergies, but it’s not recommended. Hormone therapies have found some success against hormone receptor-positive cancers by lowering the production of estrogen and blocking the effects of existing estrogen in the patient. This treatment is, unfortunately, useless against hormone receptor-negative cancers.
Another method of treating cancer is chemotherapy. A common problem with chemotherapy treatments has been the drugs’ inability to specifically target the dividing cancer cells, instead interfering with all cell division in the body. This is true when you are at a steady weight. However, when it comes to losing weight, eating breakfast is not an accelerator of weight loss. The calories going in still require to go somewhere. Yes, you definitely get more fat in the long term in case you skip breakfast, then eat normal amounts of food for lunch & dinner afterward. A that skips breakfast puts their body in starvation mode so that any excess food that you eat later in the day instantly becomes fat as the body scrambles to keep any sugar available in the body after being told it is starving when breakfast is skipped.

When they were hunter-gatherers & they roamed the earth for the next food supply as nomads, there would be times where the winter would come in & the food supply would drop, or there would be times of famine where there wasn’t a food supply. God was smart to design us with a source of sugar in the work of these times of require for food. All mammals have this food storage process called fat. When you see those commercials asking to aid kids starving in other countries, those kids are relying on these fat stores to survive their lack of adequate nutrients.
Well here is how this process got bastardized. After they went through the ice age & became agrarian in our economy, an plentiful food supply existed. They didn’t starve anymore, & they don’t starve anymore because right now they have plenty of farms & excess food stores to supply us with nourishment. The supermarkets have been bigger & supersized as has our available speedy food. It is comic they call it speedy food because although it is speedy due to the speedy service, this is the food that prevents us from fasting anymore since it is available. In fact they overindulge & never starve, & that leaves us with large food stores in our body through obesity.
Add to that that they have, over the last 15 years, added large amounts of sugars to our food as fillers & as fat replacements to add flavor. So not only do they not starve anymore in the middle-class western hemisphere, they also give ourselves more food than they require & thus they are more fat than ever. (Don’t get me started on our first ever epidemic of fat 6-month-olds because of recent additions of fructose to formula).
So they don’t starve anymore but they have a plentiful harvest every time they walk in to a supermarket. Since people don’t starve, they have no chance at using our natural human process for sugar storage & release: Fat burning through Calorie deprivation.
That is where Gastric bypass, mouth wiring, lap band procedures come in. In lieu of having famines or food shortages or winter times to naturally let us lose weight as they were designed, they use artificial surgeries to force our unhealthiest members of the population, the severely fat, to lose weight the way Nature had intended. Forced calorie droughts through surgical means work but have high-level surgical risks for these unhealthy patients. Through my experience with my own patients & those of my colleagues, I have seen our patients die after these procedures from sepsis (Body infections), Heart conditions, complications of the surgical procedure itself & anesthesia, malnourishment, iron deficiency anemia, vitamin deficiency, & depression-induced suicides. I even had patient die from bulimia after the procedure. Not everyone gets the psychological support they require nor do they get the guidance of what to anticipate two times they lose the weight.
Also there has been a phenomenon of displeasure & poor satisfaction with the results after they have lost weight. When I say satisfaction, I am speaking about life satisfaction. You are not supposed to take it with hypertension, atherosclerosis, glaucoma, or any heart conditions, conditions that plenty of fat people already have. The medication can make you restless, nervous, dry of the mouth, & induce insomnia. But people are so keen to lose weight they keep looking for artificial means of weight loss.
Worst of all, I have had a few patients in recent years come to me to find that their use of that medicine with Fenfluramine historically has led to Heart valve issues & a lifelong cardiac condition. People ate leaner & survived at a thinner weight. Compare a restaurant plate then to now that you can get from Atlantic City or Las Vegas Buffets. Those plates are HUGE.
In these days of supersizing, buffets, & large dinner plates, the mindset is different. They expect a full plate these days, & they expect second helpings of what they like. They like sugary drinks. & as a whole, the population back then wasn’t as far off from what they do now in the realms of exercise & training. Sure, they have highly developed cross training & intense burning & core body exercises now, but is not it comic how not plenty of of these new regimens are different from the past (Kettle bells are back in vogue for training? Lifting tires?). The only difference is our perceived eating needs have changed to explain the lean bodies of our grandparents to our own. Do you see fat skeletons of cavemen & females in the museums?
Spain has not strayed far from it is earlier eating patterns. In fact in American Movies & commercials they are constantly making fun of the small portion sizes in the Italian diet. However what they are eating in portion is actually in line with what truly is necessary. Google “world obesity rankings” & you’ll see where US & Spain currently stand. You’ll see USA at a 30% obesity rate (two out of ten Americans is fat) versus Spain at Number 23 on the list with a 9.4% obesity rate ( less than one out of ten). The closest country to the USA, Mexico, is at 24%, so they are WAY over the rest ofic the world in the USA.
So these days, most of the population have a skewed view of proper food amounts in our diet, they have a food supply filled with sugars & high fructose corn syrup, & they return for seconds & tidy our plates. Add to that the large amounts of food they offer for celebrations. The last wedding I went to for 200 people there were two large tables of all-you-can-eat food & all-you-can-drink free alcohol. Way over the handfuls of food they ought to be eating. Christmas time is always a gutbuster, & Easter & Halloween are candy-based foods. Gluttony is en vogue these days. The USA has been battered by constant commercials about food & eating to make a standard portion size that of a tremendous large burger & large sized fries & large sugary soda. They have learned to eat until full than to eat when satisfied. The handfuls of food in the italian diet is normal & not extravagant! They no longer must be brainwashed to eat until full. They have not been listening to our bodies to cease eating when they are satisfied. (This is of the unconscious commands I give my hypnosis clients to help them lose weight). Eat when hungry, cease when satisfied. Avoid being full as that is the signal from the body that you went far.
All these myths I have mentioned above prevent appropriate weight maintenance & speedy weight loss. They are some of the myths that make naysayers say while the doers lose weight with me. In Neurolinguistic programming & Hypnosis they discuss “Frames”: Those reference points people use to view the world. The most basic frame is optimist vs pessimist — do you see the glass as half empty or half full? Individuals who see the glass half full are the ones who see most things in their lives as positive, those who see it as half empty have a pessimistic tone to the things that happen in their lives. These beliefs have clouded doctors & their patients for years as to what is right & wrong about weight loss. When they reframe these thoughts from usually accepted truths to myths & barriers to our success in weight loss, they have freed ourselves to accept that it is safe to lose a pound a day using our natural mechanism for food intake reduction.
